Ashanti Shequoiya, also popularly known as Ashanti, is a popular American singer and actress. She is a musician, singer and actor who hails from the United States. Ashanti, a teenage actor and singer from the United States was signed by Murder Inc. Records to release a single in 2002. That same year, she was in The Fat Joe's What's Luv? Ja Rule's track, Always On Time and Fat Joe's What's luv? Her hits include Foolish (number one) and the track What's Luv! The first female artist holding the top two spots on Billboard Hot 100 in America and with the number one spot held by Foolish. one and the other being What's Loving? Let's celebrate this momentous occasion together. Ashanti Shequoiya, more popularly called Ashanti, is a New Yorker born in Glen Cove on the 13th of October in 1980. Tina Douglas was her mother and Ken Kaide Thomas Douglas previously had a voice. She is more youthful than Kenashia T. Douglas. Douglas chose the name Ashanti after Ghana's Ashanti Empire, where women ruled and had influence. Douglas wanted Ashanti to be a part of this model. James was her grandpa. He was an activist for civil rights along with Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1960s. The mother of Ashanti's discovered her daughter's talent when she overheard her singing Mary J. Blige's Reminisce. Ashanti appeared as a child part-time actress in Spike Lee's Malcolm X in 1992 as well as Ted Demme's Who's the Man? A few of her cameos included music videos, such as K.R.S. Act One's MC's"Like They're Not Known" and 8 Off's Ghetto Woman. Although she was offered by a number of record labels like Bad Boy or Jive, Ashanti struggled to find success being an artist. She continued to perform in New York, and she was spotted in with the Murder Inc. studios hoping for a breakthrough. Ashanti was first seen as a background vocalist for Big Pun on the song "How We Roll". Ashanti also sang on the Fat Joe song"What's Luv?" Ja Rule's always punctual as well as Fat Jojo's What's Luv? also featured her. On her first song, Foolish the song by DeBarge's Me which was released in 1983 is played. Ashanti's debut self-titled record was released through Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. on the label in 2002. The Declaration was her fourth studio-album, was released in June 2008 Hey Baby was released for radio and on digital platforms on 16 October 2009. She was Latasha In Army Wives and starred in the movie Christmas in the City. The song she sang Rock wit U was sampled by British rapper Aitch for his song Baby on March 10 2022.
